Cycling New Zealand aims to get more people riding more often. As part of this we offer youth programmes and instructor training to get more children and teenagers into the sport.
These programmes start with Learn to Ride, for primary and intermediate aged children, and then follow with discipline specific Introduction to Cycling programmes for intermediate and secondary school participants.
These programmes give youth the fundamental skills to ride a bike, and then participate in road, track, mountain bike, or BMX.
They also give an opportunity for parents, beginner and existing coaches, clubs, and schools to be trained in these courses, and given the resources to deliver them themselves.
