LEVEL KEY REQUIREMENTS BENEFITS AND COSTS
Cycling New Zealand Recognised Event
  • Able to demonstrate previous (and relevant) organisation experience and outline the events safety commitment statement to keep cyclists, staff and volunteers safe before, during and after the event. 
  • A Safety Management Plan (SMP) that demonstrates your plans to keep people safe and meets all legal requirements including HSWA2015.
  • Approved Traffic Management Plan (TMP) if operating on public roads
  • Applicable consents/permits/approvals
  • Appropriate Event Liability Insurance
  • Gender Equity Prize purse (if applicable)
  • Agreement to the Event Certification Terms and Conditions and Licensing Agreements.
  • Placement and recognition on the Cycling New Zealand online Event Calendar
  • Use of Cycling New Zealand Event Certification mark
  • Letter of Certification (to support funding, council and sponsor applications) if requested
  • Pre Event promotional content on Cycling New Zealand Social Media Platforms
  • Cost: $250 + GST (Free for Cycling New Zealand affiliated clubs and centres)**

Cycling New Zealand Sanctioned Event

  • As per Cycling New Zealand Recognised event, plus:

  • All riders (and Event Organiser) hold a current Cycling New Zealand licence or International UCI Licence
  • Event operates under specific Rules, Regulations and Guidelines (including UCI and Member Organisation)
  • Adherence to Cycling New Zealand key policies and objectives including (but not limited to) Membership Terms and conditions, Constitutions of Cycling New Zealand, Code of Conduct and relevant member organisations, Anti-Doping Policy, Transgender Policy, Child & Vulnerable Persons Protection Policy, Calendar Management and Age/Distance Guidelines.
  • Support the appointment and attendance of Cycling New Zealand Commissaires
  • Provide results in an agreed format to Cycling New Zealand
  • Agreement to the Event Certification Terms and Conditions and Licensing Agreements.
  • As per Cycling New Zealand Recognised event, plus:

  • Listed in ‘Upcoming Events’ in Cycling New Zealand Newsletter
  • Article on Cycling New Zealand website (content provided by Event Organiser)
  • Post Event Report provided by attending officials
  • Cost: $250 + GST (Free for Cycling New Zealand affiliated clubs and centres) 


 

UCI Sanctioned Event and National Championships
  • As per Cycling New Zealand Sanctioned Event, plus:

  • Has been a Cycling New Zealand Sanctioned event for a minimum of 2 years / or the Event Organiser can demonstrate their ability to deliver an international standard/level event.
  • Delivers to the requirements set out by UCI in any organisation guide or as directed by attending officials.
  • Demonstrates a high level of risk mitigation across all aspects of event management and financial viability.
  • Support the appointment and attendance of Cycling New Zealand Commissaires and any International appointed Commissaires.
  • Supports Cycling New Zealand, Oceania Cycling Confederation and International event calendar planning.
  • Supports Cycling New Zealand’s High-Performance Objectives.
  • Receives endorsement from relevant Member Organisation.
  • Receives endorsement from Cycling New Zealand.
  • Receives endorsement from Oceania Cycling Confederation (For International events).
  • Receives endorsement from UCI (for International events).
  • Agreement to the Event Certification Terms and Conditions and Licensing Agreements.
  • Any organiser looking at opportunities at this level should contact Cycling New Zealand in the first instance.
  • As per Cycling New Zealand Sanctioned Event, plus:

  • Use of any applicable UCI marks
  • ‘On the day’ content on Cycling New Zealand social media platforms
  • Featured in Cycling New Zealand Member Newsletter
  • Media Release sent to national media by Cycling New Zealand
  • Cost: Free
