The Vantage Age Group Track National Championships will be held at the Avantidrome in Cambridge from 10 - 13 March 2021.
This is New Zealand's premier national track cycling event for Age Group riders from U15's through to Masters riders. Riders are selected to represent their Cycling Centres ensuring the top riders attend to race for national titles.Track cycling events involve a mix of speed, skill and tactics. The sport is highly competitive and hugely entertaining, and because events are raced in a velodrome, track is arguably the best type of cycling for spectators.

ENTRY INFORMATION
Entries for the Age Group Track National Championships are accepted through Cycling New Zealand Road and Track Centres only. Please contact your centre to apply for entry. The Centre is responsible for conducting an appropriate Selection process for all events to ensure that only riders who are competitive at this level are entered in the National Championships.

Youth
U15 Category is for riders aged between 13 and 14 as at 31 December 2021
U17 Category is for riders aged between 15 and 16 as at 31 December 2021
Masters (Timed Events)
Masters 1 Category is for riders aged between 35 and 39 as at 31 December 2021
Masters 2 Category is for riders aged between 40 and 44 as at 31 December 2021
Masters 3 Category is for riders aged between 45 and 49 as at 31 December 2021
Masters 4 Category is for riders aged between 50 and 54 as at 31 December 2021
Masters 5 Category is for riders aged between 55 and 59 as at 31 December 2021
Masters 6 Category is for riders aged between 60 and 64 as at 31 December 2021
Masters 7 Category is for riders aged between 65 and 69 as at 31 December 2021
Masters 8 Category is for riders aged between 70 and 74 as at 31 December 2021
Masters 9 Category is for riders aged between 75 and 79 at 31 December 2021
Masters 10 Category is for riders aged between 80+ at 31 December 2021
Masters (Non-Timed Events)
Masters Cat 1 is for riders aged between 35 and 44 as at 31 December 2021
Masters Cat 2 is for riders aged between 45 and 54 as at 31 December 2021
Masters Cat 3 is for riders aged between 55 and 64 as at 31 December 2021
Masters Cat 4 is for riders aged 65+ as at 31 December 2021
All entries will be required to be approved by the representing centre.
LICENSING
This event is the New Zealand Championships and entry is only open to riders with NZL on their licence code.
A 2021 Adult/Youth licence is required for all events.
Team Managers and Officials are also required to hold a 2021 Adult Licence with the appropriate endorsement from your centre.
WITHDRAWAL/REFUNDS
In the event that a rider wishes to withdraw (and is not replaced) from the event they must do so in writing to events@cyclingnewzealand.nz. A refund will only be considered on presentation of a medical certification prior to 2 March 2021.
No entry fees will be refunded without a copy of a medical certificate or after 2 March 2021.

TEAM TRAINING
Training time will be allocated (on request) to each centre. Please contact events@cyclingnewzealand.nz to request a training time slot per Centre. There is a fee of $100 + gst per hour for training time.

CONFIRMATION OF STARTERS AND MANAGERS MEETING
Managers are required to confirm their starters from 5.30pm - 6.15pm on Tuesday 9th March at the velodrome. This will be followed by a compulsory team managers meeting will be held on Tuesday 9th March 2020 at 6.30pm at the velodrome. A Representative from each Centre team is to be present.

RACE RULES
Racing will be conducted under UCI regulations and Cycling New Zealand Road & Track racing rules.
The UCI scale of penalties will apply. Any fines issued are on the Team and are payable by the Team Manager to the Commissaires Secretary at the event or Centres will be invoiced post event.
Bicycles must conform with current UCI regulations.
Riders must only wear their approved Centre jerseys and shorts. Shorts may only display sponsors that are detailed on the rider’s Cycling New Zealand Membership.
Members of a UCI international trade team or registered NZ registered trade team are permitted to wear their Team Shorts (only). A start may be refused for any incorrectly attired rider. If you have any queries over this matter, please contact the Chief Commissaire or Technical Delegate prior to travelling to the event, to avoid disappointment.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
The safety of the riders, officials, volunteer and spectators are included in the event planning.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding Health and Safety please report to the Chief Commissaire or to the Event Manager
The event will be hosted at the Avantidrome in Cambridge. Track Cycling is one of the best spectator sports around! This event will showcase the best Age Group riders in the country as they race for national titles.

2. Stay hydrated – ensure you drink enough water.
3. Be informed – check out the race programme and the venue entry conditions before you arrive
