While the latest Government announcement confirmed that the Waikato region would be in Alert Level 2 in time for the scheduled event, unfortunately due to the introductions of ‘Delta Level 2’ which now restricts inside events to a maximum of 50 people (Alert Level 2 was originally 100 people) we are faced with the disappointing decision to cancel the event.

We had suspended entries to be below 100 riders in the hope that we could deliver an event in Alert Level 2 but the introduction of the new restrictions and the associated risks at this time do not support the event going ahead. 

We know this will be disappointing, and that this is likely to be one of many opportunities and experiences being cancelled. We do however fully support the intent of these guidelines and the national health response.

We extend our thanks to those riders who had entered, to our commissaires and volunteers who were committed to giving up their time and to the Avantidrome for supporting our timelines to make this decision.

Those who had paid and entered will receive a full refund over the next few days.
