COACHES

SIT Southern Performance Hub's head coach is Sid Cumming, who has a long history working in sport development and performance.

A born and bred Southlander, Sid has been running his business, World Health and Fitness, in Invercargill for the last 26 years working with some of Southlands top athletes. Sid has also coached Rowing in the '80s, Triathlon in the '90s and '00s and has seen success on the national and international stage.

In the last five years, Sid has been coaching cycling for the Southland under 17 and 19 programme with plenty of success at nationals and with a lot of athletes winning on the world stage.

"The best thing for me about coaching is watching good young people achieve their goals and become better people both on and off the bike." - Sid Cumming.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

SIT Southern Performance Hub riders have access to numerous training and development opportunities. These include 2-3 weekly strength and conditioning sessions with a trainer, two coached track sessions a week and weekly bunch rides. In addition, four-track camps and a road camp are held throughout the year, as well as mental skills and nutrition seminars run by Academy Southland. Hub riders also ride in the National Track Series.
