New Zealand mountain biker George Swift will defend her title at the UCI MTB Enduro World Championships, named to lead a three-strong Mountain Bike New Zealand team.
Swift (Yeti-Fox Cycles), who won the elite E-Enduro MTB world championship in Switzerland last year, will defend her title in Italy in October alongside racing the EDR World Championship.
Staged with downhill and cross-country last year, the UCI MTB Enduro World Championships will be held as a standalone event at Finale Ligure, Italy from 16-18 October.
Swift, from Warkworth and a member of Auckland Downhill Club, is the sole elite female rider selected.
She is joined by Bradley Harris (Queenstown MTB Club) who will compete in elite men, with Nelson’s Nico Schroder (Nelson MTB Club) to race Under-19 men.
