5 - 7 February 2027
Cambridge

The Elite Road National Championships is New Zealand’s premier national road cycling event, attracting New Zealand’s top professional and amateur road cyclists all vying for coveted National Jerseys.

This event will take place on 5 - 7 February 2027 in Cambridge, hosted by Te Awamutu Cycling Club. The event will include a Time Trial and Road Race National Championships.

We are moving back to a Friday–Sunday format for 2027 due to where the Anzac holiday falls - with two weekend days making it easier for volunteers to get involved and for more spectators to enjoy the action.

On Monday 9 February will also be there Spoken Cycles Criterium National Championships, featuring the crowd-favourite Dash4Cash, held on the Anzac holiday.

ENTRY FEES

For this event, we have obtained quotes for all expected expenses, and the current budget shows a forecast loss of $31,000 before additional costs such as livestreaming (estimated at a further $33,000). Due to this significant shortfall, we have had to increase entry fees to help offset the deficit. We are also seeking funding support to enable the event to reach a breakeven position.

LIVESTREAMING

For this event, we have obtained quotes for all expected expenses, and the current budget shows a forecast loss of $31,000 before additional costs such as livestreaming (estimated at a further $33,000). Due to this significant shortfall, we have had to increase entry fees to help offset the deficit. We are also seeking funding support to enable the event to reach a breakeven position.

We have made the decision to prioritise athlete, commissaire and spectator safety ahead of livestreaming. We would love to provide livestreaming but ultimately it would result in substantive event entry increases.
