Cycling New Zealand are excited to partner with the Whaka100 Mountain Bike Marathon to host the 2026 Marathon MTB National Championships on Saturday 25 October 2026 in Rotorua.
This event is a UCI Sanctioned Championships.
Below is the Marathon Schedule through to 2028:
24 October 2027, Rotorua: Whaka100 MTB Marathon
2 December 2028, Hanmer Springs: Tombstone Bike

Entry Eligibility and Criteria
The Marathon Championship is open to all New Zealand riders with a 2026 Cycling New Zealand Annual Licence regardless of being elite or masters etc. Click here to purchase a Cycling New Zealand Annual Licence.
Riders aged 19 or over (as at 31 December 2026)
All riders are encouraged to be a member of a MTBNZ/CNZ Affiliated MTB Club
Day licences are not available

Racing will be conducted under the Mountain Bike New Zealand Technical Regulations and UCI Regulations.
