Para Track Readiness Programme (4 Weeks)

Cycling New Zealand will deliver a four-weekend Para Track Readiness Programme designed as the formal entry point into Para track cycling.
This programme is open to individuals with an eligible impairment who are new to Para cycling and wish to explore progression within the Para Cycling pathway.
Sessions are delivered across four weekends:
15 March: 12:00pm – 1:30pm
22 March: 12:00pm – 1:30pm
29 March: 12:00pm – 1:30pm
5 April: 2:00pm – 3:30pm
Each session focuses on developing the foundational skills required to train safely and confidently in a structured track environment.
What to Expect
Introduction to velodrome safety, etiquette, and track markings
Starting and stopping safely on the track
Holding a consistent line and maintaining spatial awareness
Controlled riding at steady speeds
Group riding fundamentals and communication
Application of skills in progressively structured sessions
The Para Track Readiness Programme is not performance-focused. It is designed to build confidence, competence, and safety standards before progressing into higher intensity training.
