2027 Enduro MTB National Championships Update - at 6 October
We’re excited to re-confirm that the 2027 Enduro MTB National Championships will be hosted in Rotorua.
As many riders and stakeholders will appreciate, developing the 2027 mountain bike calendar has been particularly challenging, with a limited number of available weekends and several major events needing to be accommodated. With both the UCI Continental Championships and Oceania Mountain Bike Championships taking place in Aotearoa New Zealand in 2027, the calendar is exceptionally busy.
We are also working closely with Aus Cycling to create a more cohesive trans-Tasman calendar that supports riders travelling between Australia and New Zealand, helping to minimise scheduling conflicts and maximise participation opportunities.
As part of this planning, we are currently exploring the possibility of scheduling the Enduro MTB National Championships in and around the Crankworx Rotorua 2027 event. We recognise the significant opportunities this could provide for riders, teams, spectators, and the wider mountain bike community, and are working through how this could best be delivered.
We appreciate the community’s patience as these discussions continue and look forward to sharing further details once arrangements are confirmed.

Entry Eligibility and Criteria
UCI Categories - Open to NZL riders only (as per your nationality with UCI).
Non-UCI Categories - Open to all riders
All riders are encouraged to be a member of a MTBNZ/CNZ Affiliated MTB Club
LICENCING
All riders in UCI categories must hold a 2027 Cycling New Zealand Annual Licence which comes with a valid 2027 UCI ID required to collect UCI points.
All riders in the National Championships Non-UCI categories must hold a 2027 Cycling New Zealand Annual Licence OR pay the additional fee for the Cycling New Zealand One-Day Licence.

UCI Categories
Under 19 - Riders aged between 17 - 18 (as at 31 December 2027)
Elite - Riders aged 19 - 29 (as at 31 December 2027)
In the case of a U19 having the fastest time of the day only one (Elite) National Jersey will be awarded to that rider. In the case of an Elite having the fastest time, the winner will be awarded with an Elite National Jersey and the first placed U19 rider will be awarded with a U19 National Jersey.
NON - UCI Categories
In the Rotorua Enduro the categories include:
Under 15 - For Riders aged between 13 - 14 (as at 31 December 2027)
Under 17 - For Riders aged between 15 - 16 (as at 31 December 2027)
Under 19 - For Riders aged between 17 - 18 (as at 31 December 2027)

Open Women
Ebike Men
Ebike Women
Masters 1 - For Riders aged between 30 - 39 (as at 31 December 2027)
Masters 2 - For Riders aged between 40 - 49 (as at 31 December 2027)
Masters 3 - For Riders aged 50+ (as at 31 December 2027)

Racing will be conducted under the Mountain Bike New Zealand Technical Regulations and UCI Regulations.
