Upcoming Events

Cycling Southland and Cycling New Zealand invite individuals with a physical or visual impairment to attend a come and try Para cycling session and learn more about the Para cycling pathways available.

A four-weekend programme open to individuals with an eligible impairment who are new to Para cycling and wish to explore progression within the Para Cycling pathway.

Cycling New Zealand will host a Tandem Talent Identification Day designed primarily to introduce and identify potential stokers and pilots.

High Performance Development Pathway

Developed through a collaborative effort, the High Performance Development Pathway provides a clear and structured framework to support the identification and progression of Para cyclists across Aotearoa.

It has been designed with a strong focus on athlete development, while also fostering a high-performance mindset from the outset.

Our goal is to ensure that individuals with potential, drive, and determination are given every opportunity to develop within an environment that is both supportive and performance-focused.

The High Performance Development Pathway outlines key stages of progression for emerging and developing athletes, with a view to preparing them for international podium success.

Whether athletes are new to the sport or already progressing through the system, we hope this pathway offers the guidance and structure needed to achieve their goals.
