Cycling New Zealand are looking for a Content Coordinator to join our team. 

The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years’ experience creating, executing and monitoring digital marketing with an emphasis on social media delivery. This job is suited to someone at an emerging to intermediate level who is looking for an opportunity to use their digital marketing, communication and design management skills in a vibrant sport organisation.

The Content Coordinator will create and deliver a defined range of marketing and communication actions to promote and  help Cycling New Zealand to tell it's story.  Ideally the person will have a passion for cycling, as well as all the necessary technical skills to fulfill the role.  The position is full time and fixed for 12 months.

Building on plans that will be developed in collaboration with the Marketing and Sponsorship Manager, the Content Coordinator is responsible for the delivery of digital content for Cycling New Zealand. This is a multifaceted content and design role including responsibility for the day to day content creation and management of Cycling New Zealand’s Social Media platforms, website content development, design of promotional collateral, eDM and other digital work.

With oversight from the Marketing and Sponsorship Manager, the role will include creating marketing/communication plans, producing social media content and communication of the work across the organisation and other key stakeholders.


Key Functions of the role include:

1.Communications planning and monitoring

  • Develop content plans with a specific emphasis on social media to support wider organisational objectives and strategies;
  • Ensure the needs of partners, sponsors, member organisations and other key stakeholder are considered;
  • Plan and coordinate the delivery of branding, social media capture.

2. Digital Content Creation

  • Create and produce content for digital channels;
  • Cover targeted international and domestic events on social media and website;
  • Proof articles and content to ensure accuracy for all mediums;
  • Develop and update website content;
  • Ensure team and sport media is profiled quickly and accurately across social media and websites.

3. Reporting and review 

  • Ensure Cycling New Zealand effectively responds and adapts to noted trends;
  • Proactively manage communication collateral and resources;
  • Provide media analytics and be comfortable to make recommendations for improvement.

You love and live communications, in particular social media, and have a passion for sport, especially cycling; this passion and energy shines throughout your work.

Fun loving and creative, you are a great team player who values collaboration and who can manage through the personnel chain of an organisation and reach a decision to move forward on.  You manage expectations of people well and communicate before the fact.

Technically you’re proficient with all the latest digital and social media tools and know you can pump out great content both fast and accurately.  You are organised with good attention to the little details, like to push your comfort zone and add value wherever you go.
